LPG Marketers' Association Party List Rep. Arnel U. Ty recognizes the significance of making energy more accessible to society, particularly liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for cooking and heating. Hence, as a Representative of LPG/MA Party List, Cong. Arnel U. Ty, has been advocating for and filing measures in the 16th Congress to enable the consuming public particularly those marginalized to have greater access to lower-priced LPG regardless of brand. Cong. Ty is also a proponent of poverty alleviation and the delivery of adequate social services for the purpose of uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the poor.
Rep. Ty's legislative performance includes the following energy-related bills, HB 4925, which establishes a system of LPG product accommodation among bulk suppliers in the Philippines to promote fair completion in the downstream for the benefit of consumers; HB 4526, which creates the National Strategic Petroleum Reserve; and HB 3976, which establishes the regulatory framework for conduct of business and safe operations of the LPG industry. He also co-authored RA 10150, which extends the implementation of the lifeline rate of the EPIRA; and HB 4801, which amends the Price Act.
LPG/MA Party List, through Rep. Ty, allocates Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) for several humanitarian projects namely, feeding programs and medical and dental missions. LPG/MA also uses its legislative allotments in the acquisition of communication equipments for various barangays in Metro Manila and firetrucks in the Municipalities of Bulacan and Isabela, and donated computers for schools in Metro Manila, Bulacan and Isabela.
Prior to becoming a Representative of LPG/MA Party List to the House of Representatives, Cong. Tywas among the small and independent refillers and marketers in the LPG sector. He completed his primary and secondary education at Nan Sing Elementary School and Philippine Yu Chiao School, respectively. He proceeded to study Business Administration at Philippine School of Business Administration.
Rep. Ty is married to Mari Antonette N. Ty with whom he has four children: Alyssa Nicole, Alyanna, Audrey Nadine and Andrew Nathan.
